Soulsavers – It’s not how far you fall, it’s the way you land

Ex-Screaming Trees front man Mark Lanegan has continued his interesting series of joint projects – this time joining forces with electro duo the Soulsavers. After albums with Isobel Campbell, Queens of the Stone Age and Greg Duilli’s Twilight Singers, Lanegan uses his deep, gravel throated, Johnny Cashesque rasp across a series of what can only be described as gospel tunes.

‘Kingdom of Rain’ and the almost spiritualised ‘Revival’ are the stand out tracks from one of the oddest but most satisfying collaborations of the year.
